Where the Desert Blooms and the Sea Sings
When most people picture the Arabian Peninsula, they imagine sun-scorched dunes and shimmering heat. Salalah shatters that image entirely. Tucked away in the far south of Oman, this remarkable city offers lush valleys, misty mountains, ancient ruins, and turquoise beaches, a destination unlike anywhere else in the Middle East.
Where Is Salalah?

Salalah is Oman's second-largest city and the capital of Dhofar governorate, the country's southernmost region, bordered by Yemen, the Rub' al Khali desert, and the Arabian Sea. Its remoteness has long kept it off the radar of mainstream travellers, but those who make the journey find it to be one of the most rewarding destinations in the region. Just an hour's flight from Muscat, it feels like a world apart.
